Terms & conditions
These terms govern your use of ghorpadebrothers.in and any purchase, quotation or supply agreement made through it. Please read them before placing an order — submitting an order means you accept them.
Who we are
This website is operated by Ghorpade Brothers, a supplier of laboratory equipment, precision measuring instruments and workshop tooling, with its place of business at Isha Eleganza, near AAKASH Institute, Khanapur Road, Belgaum, Karnataka, India.
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Ghorpade Brothers. "You" means the person or organisation placing an order or using this site.
Using this site
You may use this site to browse products, request quotations and place orders. You agree not to use it in any way that is unlawful, that interferes with its operation or security, or that attempts to extract data by automated means without our written consent.
We aim to keep the site available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend, withdraw or change any part of it without notice.
Products & specifications
Product images, photographs, illustrations, colours, finishes, designs and product appearances displayed on this website are for reference and representation purposes only and may differ from the actual product supplied.
The manufacturer/OEM may, from time to time, modify, upgrade, improve, redesign, change the colour combination, finish, appearance, dimensions, configuration, technical specifications, features, model number, branding, packaging or other aspects of a product without prior notice. Such changes may also occur due to product improvement, manufacturing changes, technological upgrades, availability of components, discontinuation of a model, regulatory requirements or other reasons beyond our control.
Accordingly, the actual product supplied may differ from the product image, colour, appearance, model, configuration or specifications shown on this website, provided that the supplied product is functionally equivalent to or better than the product represented.
Where an OEM/manufacturer discontinues, replaces, upgrades or materially modifies a product, we may supply the current, equivalent or upgraded model from the same manufacturer/OEM or an equivalent manufacturer, subject to availability and suitability.
For products where exact specifications, configuration, colour, finish or model are critical to the customer's requirement, customers are advised to confirm the required specifications with us before placing an order.
By placing an order, the customer acknowledges that minor variations in product appearance, colour, finish, design, packaging, model number and specifications may occur due to OEM/manufacturer changes and shall not, by themselves, constitute a defect or non-conformity, provided the product meets the applicable functional and technical requirements.
For laboratory, ATL and other package listings, the listed items and quantities represent the intended Bill of Materials (BOM). Individual components may be substituted with equivalent or better items due to OEM upgrades, product discontinuation, availability or other manufacturing-related changes, provided that the replacement fulfils the intended application and meets or exceeds the stated requirements.
Pricing, GST & quotations
Prices shown on the site are in Indian Rupees. Applicable GST is charged at the prevailing rate and is shown at checkout. Where prices are displayed exclusive of tax, that is stated alongside the price.
Prices are subject to change without notice. A written quotation is valid for the period stated on it, and where no period is stated, for 15 days from the date of issue.
We take care over pricing, but if an item is listed at a manifestly incorrect price we may decline or cancel the order and refund any amount paid.
Minimum order value
Checkout is not available below this amount. If your requirement falls under the minimum, contact us directly and we will advise on consolidated supply or arrange a quotation.
Orders & acceptance
Placing an order is an offer to buy. It is not accepted until we confirm it — by written order confirmation, invoice or dispatch, whichever comes first. The automated email you receive on checkout acknowledges receipt; it is not acceptance.
We may decline an order where stock is unavailable, where the item is restricted, where we cannot verify the buyer, or where there has been a pricing or listing error.
Payment
Online payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not receive or store your card or banking details; those are handled by the payment gateway under its own terms and security standards.
For institutional and government buyers, we also accept purchase orders and payment against invoice where credit terms have been agreed in writing in advance. Goods remain our property until payment is received in full.
Where agreed credit terms are exceeded, we reserve the right to charge interest on the overdue amount and to suspend further supply.
Delivery
We deliver across India. Dispatch timelines are indicated at the time of order and depend on stock and, for made-to-order or imported items, on manufacturer lead times. Delivery dates are estimates and are not guaranteed.
Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Please inspect consignments on arrival and record any visible damage or shortage on the carrier's documentation.
Where a delivery fails because nobody is available to receive it or the address given is incorrect, re-delivery charges may apply.
Inspection & warranty
Please inspect goods and report any shortage, damage or discrepancy within 7 days of delivery, with photographs and the invoice reference.
Products carry the warranty offered by their manufacturer or OEM. We pass that warranty through to you and will assist with claims, but we do not extend a separate warranty of our own beyond it unless we have agreed one in writing.
Warranty does not cover fair wear and tear, consumables, or damage arising from misuse, incorrect installation, unauthorised repair, or use outside the manufacturer's stated operating conditions. Calibration certificates, where applicable, are supplied as issued by the manufacturer or calibrating laboratory.
Replace
You may cancel an order before dispatch at no charge. Once dispatched, orders cannot be cancelled.
Goods that are damaged in transit, defective on arrival, or not what you ordered will be replaced at our cost, provided the issue is reported within the inspection window above.
Replacement requests for any other reason are at our discretion and must be requested within 7 days of delivery. Goods must be unused and in their original packaging. A restocking charge may apply. The following are not eligible for replacement:
- Items made, imported or configured to your specification
- Consumables and chemicals once opened
- Calibrated instruments where the seal or certificate has been broken
- Items supplied against a tender or written purchase order, unless defective
Approved replacements will be processed after the returned goods are received and inspected. Replacement items will be shipped within 7 to 10 working days, subject to availability.
Tenders & institutional supply
Supply against a tender, GeM contract, rate contract or institutional purchase order is governed by the terms of that contract. Where those terms conflict with these, the contract terms prevail for that supply.
Documentation such as authorisation certificates, OEM letters, GST invoices and compliance declarations is issued on request in the form required by the procuring body, subject to what the manufacturer will provide.
Accounts & your data
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity carried out under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your authorisation.
We use the details you give us to process orders, issue invoices and respond to enquiries. How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy policy.
Intellectual property
The content of this site — text, layout, graphics and photographs — belongs to us or to our suppliers, and may not be reproduced or reused commercially without written permission.
Third-party brand names and logos shown on this site are the property of their respective owners and are used to identify products we are authorised to supply.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Subject to that, our total liability in connection with any order is limited to the invoice value of the goods giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of use, downtime, or loss of data or research work.
Goods are supplied for their intended professional, educational or industrial use. You are responsible for ensuring that an item is suitable for your application and is installed, operated and maintained safely and by competent persons.
Events outside our control
We are not liable for delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including manufacturer or import delays, transport disruption, natural events, strikes, changes in law, or failure of utilities or communications networks. Where such an event occurs we will contact you and agree a revised timeline.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Belgaum, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, save that we may bring proceedings where a buyer is located in order to recover sums due.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the moment you place an order is the version that applies to that order. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
