Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use ghorpadebrothers.in, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and what you can ask us to do with it. We collect only what we need to quote, supply and support the products you order.
Who we are
Ghorpade Brothers, of Isha Eleganza, near AAKASH Institute, Khanapur Road, Belgaum, Karnataka, India, is responsible for the personal information handled through this website. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 we act as the data fiduciary for that information.
This policy covers ghorpadebrothers.in. It does not cover other companies' websites we may link to.
What we collect
We collect the following, and nothing beyond it:
| Enquiry form | Name, institution or company, email, phone, city, the type of enquiry and the requirement you describe. We also record the page you sent it from and your IP address, to help us spot automated spam. |
|---|---|
| Orders | Billing and shipping name and address, email, phone, the items ordered, the amount, and — where you provide one — a GSTIN. |
| Accounts | If you create an account: your username, email, password (stored encrypted, never in readable form) and your saved addresses and order history. |
| Direct contact | What you send us by email, phone or WhatsApp, kept as part of the conversation record. |
| Technical | Basic server and security logs generated by our host, including IP address, browser type and pages requested. |
We do not collect sensitive personal data, and we do not buy contact lists or obtain your details from data brokers.
Why we use it
- To prepare quotations and respond to enquiries
- To process, invoice, dispatch and support your orders
- To handle warranty claims, returns and after-sales queries
- To issue GST-compliant invoices and keep the accounting records the law requires us to keep
- To supply documentation required by tender and government procurement processes
- To keep the site secure and prevent fraudulent or automated abuse
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell it to anyone.
Consent & choices
When you submit an enquiry or place an order, you consent to us using those details to respond and to fulfil the order. You can withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us — though we may need to keep certain records where tax or contract law requires it.
We will only send you marketing or product updates if you have asked for them. Every such message includes an unsubscribe link, and opting out does not affect the messages we send about orders you have placed.
Payment information
We receive only the outcome of the payment — whether it succeeded, the amount, and a transaction reference — which we hold against your order for accounting and refund purposes. Razorpay's handling of your data is governed by its own privacy policy.
Cookies
This site sets cookies for the following purposes:
| Essential | To remember what's in your cart, keep you logged in, and secure form submissions. The site cannot work without these. |
|---|---|
| Performance | Our caching layer may set a cookie to serve you the correct version of a page — for example, so a logged-in visitor isn't shown a cached logged-out page. |
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking the essential ones will stop the cart and checkout from working.
Who we share with
We share your information only where it is needed to run the service, and only with the following kinds of recipient:
| Payment gateway | Razorpay, to take and reconcile payments. |
|---|---|
| Web hosting | Our hosting provider, which stores the site and its database on our behalf. |
| Couriers & logistics | Delivery name, address and phone number, so consignments reach you. |
| Manufacturers & OEMs | Where a warranty claim, calibration or direct dispatch requires it. |
| Professional advisers | Our accountants and auditors, for tax and statutory filings. |
| Embedded services | Our contact page embeds a Google map, and some page effects load a JavaScript library from a content delivery network. Loading these means your browser contacts those providers directly and they may see your IP address. |
We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, a court, or a government authority.
Some of these providers operate servers outside India. Where information is transferred abroad, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected.
How long we keep it
| Enquiries | Up to 3 years from your last contact, so we can pick up a conversation where it left off. |
|---|---|
| Orders & invoices | For as long as tax and company law requires — generally at least 8 years. |
| Accounts | Until you ask us to close the account, after which we delete the profile and retain only what invoicing law obliges us to keep. |
| Server logs | Short-term, as set by our hosting provider's security policy. |
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, account passwords are stored encrypted, and access to order and enquiry records is limited to the people who need it to do their job. Payment data never reaches our systems.
No system is completely secure. If a breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will notify you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 you may ask us to:
- Show you the personal information we hold about you, and who we have shared it with
- Correct anything inaccurate, incomplete or out of date
- Erase information we no longer need for the purpose it was collected for
- Withdraw consent you previously gave
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to
Write to us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable period. We may need to verify your identity first. Where we cannot act on a request — because a record must be kept for tax purposes, for example — we will explain why.
Grievance officer
If you have a concern about how your information has been handled, contact our grievance officer:

Children
This site is intended for institutional, industrial and professional buyers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Where we supply equipment to a school, our dealings are with the institution and its staff, not with students.
Other websites
This site links to manufacturer sites, procurement portals and social media. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information — check their own privacy policies before sharing anything with them.
Changes
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The effective date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. Where a change materially affects how we use your information, we will make that clear rather than quietly amending the page.

Ask us anything about what we hold, or make a request under the rights above — we'll deal with it directly.
